Entercom To Begin Operating KBLX On Tuesday, May 1
Announces Steve Harvey as New Morning Show

San Francisco, CA – Today, Entercom Communications Corp. (NYSE: ETM) announced that it will begin operating KBLX in San Francisco under a time brokerage agreement (TBA) beginning Tuesday, May 1. The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York has approved the TBA and the sale of KBLX to Entercom. The closing of the transaction is subject to certain customary closing conditions, including approval of the Federal Communications Commission, and is expected to close later this year.

“Entercom couldn’t be more excited to start working with a tremendous heritage brand like KBLX. KBLX has done a magnificent job of serving the local community, and we look forward to continuing to do that at Entercom,” said Dwight Walker, Entercom San Francisco Vice President and Market Manager. “Adding Steve Harvey in the morning makes KBLX better. His mass appeal will resonate with KBLX listeners and bring in a wider audience over time. Steve’s success in markets across the country will make a difference with our clients and advertisers.”

The Steve Harvey Morning Show will begin broadcasting at 6am on Monday, May 7. Steve Harvey is not just a radio personality—he’s a television host, best-selling author, and a brand-name comedian. Harvey’s first book Act Like a Lady, Think Like A Man, spent 60 weeks on the New York Times Best Seller list and is currently the #1 movie in America.

"KBLX has a long history in San Francisco and I truly feel blessed to be a part of their lineup. A special thanks to my friends at Entercom for their confidence in bringing The Steve Harvey Morning Show to the Bay Area. This has been a great week for me,” said Steve Harvey. “I have the number #1 book and movie in the country at the same time. Now, I'm in the Bay Area, and I want to continue this winning streak! I will be waking KBLX listeners up every morning with inspiration and a whole lot of Funny!”

KBLX will become the fourth brand in Entercom’s San Francisco cluster, joining Entercom’s existing lineup of the market’s #1 rated music station, 96.5 KOIT-FM, sports talk station 95.7 The GAME (KGMZ-FM), and classic rock station KFOX 98.5/102.1 (KUFX-FM).

Beginning Monday, May 7, the New KBLX weekly lineup will be as follows:
• 6am to 10am – The Steve Harvey Show with KBLX’s Nikki Thomas with news, traffic, local content and local perspective
• 10am to 3pm – KBLX’s Sterling James
• 3pm to 8pm – KBLX’s Victor Zaragoza

Entercom’s Dwight Walker commented on the new lineup by saying, “This new lineup makes KBLX stronger from top to bottom. Our new lineup is a great mix representing the Bay Area from Steve Harvey in the mornings to Victor Zaragoza in afternoons. Saying goodbye to Kevin Brown and Antoine Davis is not easy. We thank them for their years of service and what they meant to KBLX.” Entercom also will conduct a nationwide search for a new program director.

KBLX’s Music Director and weekend talent, Kimmie Taylor, had this to say about the new KBLX: “KBLX will continue to play the best R&B for all the beautiful people in the Bay Area. It’s sad to see friends leave but this is an exciting day for KBLX, our devoted listeners and our loyal advertisers.”
