I picked up the Contra Costa Times this morning and was surprised and excited to see Ms. Belva Davis on the front page.
This woman is a true icon. Congratulations to Belva and big ups to the Contra Costa Times for recognizing her and her contributions.

Thanks for recognizing this remarkable woman. Ms. Davis has been a Bay Area icon for as long as I can remember. She is also a pioneer in encouraging young African American women to strive towards higher education and to cultivate a positive, beautiful, self-image through her involvement in beauty pagents for Black women long before women of color were considered serious candidates for National and International competition in other venues. I am delighted to see that Ms. Belva Davis is still very much appreciated for her talents, achievements and qualifications as a journalist.
