Recognizing the Gifted & Giving During 2nd Annual Celebration
Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012 ~ Scottish Rite Auditorium, Oakland, CA
SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, CA--Oakland-based organization In The Spirit will host its second annual awards celebration in honor of civic, community, academic, entertainment, healthcare, media, ministerial and sports leaders who work, reside in, or are otherwise associated with the San Francisco Bay Area. "In the Spirit" Awards are meant to uplift, celebrate and honor community leaders--individuals who are high achievers; those who positively influence and impact the community; and people who are passionately gifted and selflessly giving. "In The Spirit" Award recipients are selected by In The Spirit committee members from among nominees submitted by the general Bay Area public.
"We are excited about the acknowledgement and support that "In The Spirit" is receiving for its second annual awards program," said "In The Spirit" founder Tally Knott. "It is an honor to recognize individuals who make noteworthy contributions (often quietly) in our community."
Among this year's honorees and invited guests are CDA Consulting Group president Cathy Adams; award-winning Allen Temple Baptist Church Male Chorus; former Golden State Warriors player and head coach Alvin "Al" Attles; veteran multi-award-winning television journalist Belva Davis; Grammy Award-winning gospel and R&B musician, composer, and arranger Edwin Hawkins; Faith Fellowship Foursquare Church Senior Pastor Gary Mortara; San Francisco Bay Area Young Scholars Program founder and Executive Director Jacqueline Rushing; "Black Renaissance" host Dr. Brenda Wade; Grammy and Emmy Award-winning producer, musician and recording artist Narada Michael Walden, and more.
