Say, It Ain't So, Sam!

I pray that a new story about the late civil rights photographer, Ernest Withers, is not true. According to a two year-investigation outlined in The Commercial Appeal, Withers allegedly was on the FBI's payroll for at least 2 years.

I don't want to speak ill of the dead, especially when they can't defend themselves, so I'll just say I hope these allegations are false.

Despite the allegations, plans to include Withers' work in the renovated Museum of Civil Rights in Memphis will go forward.
